An Act to give to members of the public rights of access to official documents of the Government of the Commonwealth and of its agencies.
Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC)
The Privacy Commissioner has responsibilities under the federal Privacy Act 1988 and is able to assist consumers who have complaints regarding the privacy of personal information held by government and business; credit worthiness information held by credit reporting agencies and credit providers; and personal tax file numbers used by individuals and organisations.
