Australia New Zealand Therapeutic Products Authority (ANZTPA)
On 10 December 2003, the Australian and New Zealand Governments signed an agreement to establish a joint regulatory scheme for therapeutic products. The joint scheme will regulate medicines (including complementary medicines) and medical devices and is expected to come into force on the passage of legislation and ratification of the treaty.
Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory Council

Independent Review (PBS)
The Independent Review (PBS) was established as part of Australia's implementation of the pharmaceutical provisions of the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA). From 1 January 2005, independent review has been available to any applicant whose submission to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) has not resulted in a recommendation to list the drug on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

National Prescribing Service (NPS)
National Prescribing Service (NPS) is a non-profit organisation independent of government (although funds are provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care) and the pharmaceutical industry. Their goal is to improve the health of Australians through quality prescribing of medicines. They provide access to independent, balanced, critically appraised information on medicines to prescribers and consumers.
