Used oil recycling
Disposing of used oil the wrong way has the potential to pollute land, water and infrastructure, so we need to recover and recycle as much of it as possible. By pouring their used oil back into an empty oil container and taking it to their local used oil facility for recycling, Australians are helping to conserve a valuable resource and protect the environment.
Waste and Recycling
Action to reduce waste, either by encouraging material efficiency, reducing the generation of waste, or enabling the recovery and reuse of discarded material is a critical element of sustainable development. The Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts is developing partnerships and facilitating action with the states and industry to address these issues.
