These pages provide instant access to high quality materials on the web to assist teachers and students in preparing for the observance of Anzac Day.
Australia's War 1939-1945
This Department of Veterans' Affairs website provides teachers and students with access to imaginative and relevant information about significant World War II events, including the defence of Australia, Australia's war in the Pacific and Australian armed forces in other theatres. The site also incorporates a timeline of Australia's involvement in World War II. Information will be added to this site during 2004 - 2005.
Education Resources
The Department of Veterans' Affairs produces a range of resource material for schools and has established links with national and state curriculum authorities and teacher associations to ensure that the material meets required standards. This page provides links to educational resources.
National Centre for History Education (NCHE)
The National Centre for History Education provides information and resources which have been developed for teachers involved in the teaching of history in primary and secondary schools across Australia. The National Centre is part of The National History Project.
Visit Gallipoli
The Visit Gallipoli website gives visitors to the peninsula and those surfing the internet at home an opportunity to learn more about the Gallipoli campaign, visiting Gallipoli today, and the Anzac Commemorative Site, as well as research and educational resources for individuals, teachers and students. In particular, the website now contains three tours, the Anzac Walk, Turkish Monuments and Memorials and a new Gallipoli Tour. Each tour offers a printed guide, historical and contemporary images, and an audio commentary available in both English and Turkish, able to be downloaded as an MP3 file.
