Austroads
Austroads is the association of Australian and New Zealand road transport and traffic authorities. Austroads members are the six Australian state and two territory road transport and traffic authorities, the Department for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA), and Transit New Zealand.

Fuel Consumption Guide Database 1986-2003
The Fuel Consumption Guide Database provides comparative data on the fuel consumption of vehicles manufactured in Australia between 1986 and 2003. The database includes passenger cars and four-wheel drives, and light commercial vehicles up to 2.7 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Fuel Tax Credit for Heavy Diesel Vehicles
Under the new fuel tax legislation to apply from 1 July 2006, businesses wishing to seek a fuel tax credit for the use of diesel fuel in a heavy road vehicle must satisfy one of four environmental criteria to be eligible for the credit. The energy grant credits scheme and its associated urban and regional boundary criteria no longer applies from 1 July 2006.

National Road Transport Legislation

The Road Vehicle Certification System (RVCS) allows vehicle manufacturers to electronically certify that the vehicles that they supply to the Australian market meet prescribed safety standards specified in the Australian Design Rules (ADRs).

Transport Certification Australia
Transport Certification Australia Limited (TCA) is supporting the development and implementation of the Intelligent Access Program (IAP) and ensuring that IAP Service Providers are certified and audited. The IAP is a voluntary program which provides heavy vehicles with access, or improved access, to the Australian road network in return for monitoring of compliance with specific access conditions by vehicle telematics solutions.
