Australian Stories
australia.gov.au is now hosting the Australian Stories collection from the former Culture Portal.
The Australian Stories collection of articles covers key educational themes and cultural activities relating to Australian architecture and design, digital media and film, festivals, history, Indigenous culture, language and literature, performance, natural environment and heritage, and the visual arts and crafts.
Many stories also include evaluated links to online information on Australian culture websites from all levels of government and the non-government sector.The articles are organised both alphabetically and thematically.
The content on this section of the site has been developed by the Office for the Arts, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Services directory
The services section of the site has been expanded to include a directory of commonly-used state and territory government services. Find popular services such as vehicle registration, driver licence application or renewal, senior’s card application and business name registration. Services can be searched by task (apply, renew, contact, register etc), state or territory, A-Z list or keyword.
Australia.gov.au accounts
You can create an australia.gov.au account and use it to customise your searches to match selected topics and locations of interest.
You can use this account to pre-fill government forms with information you have chosen to store in your account, avoiding duplication and saving time when dealing with government.
We also offer a single login service to users who access secure services from the following agencies:
- Centrelink
- Medicare Australia
- Child Support Program
Once you have an australia.gov.au account you can link it to online accounts you hold with these agencies. You can then access a range of government information and services using just one login.
This feature will be enhanced over time to make it easier for you to access a broader range of government services quickly, easily and securely.
