Workplace Authority

The Workplace Authority, previously known as the Office of the Employment Advocate, provides advice and assistance to employees and employers (particularly in small business) about their rights, responsibilities and opportunities under the Workplace Relations Act 1996, especially with regard to Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs). It checks agreements against a Fairness Test to make sure employees get fair compensation.
