Repatriation Medical Authority (RMA)

The Repatriation Medical Authority (RMA) is an independent statutory authority responsible to the Minister for Veterans' Affairs. The RMA consists of a panel of five practitioners eminent in fields of medical science. Their role is to determine Statements of Principles (SOPs) for any disease, injury or death that could be related to military service, based on sound medical-scientific evidence.

Veterans' Review Board (VRB)

The Veterans' Review Board is an independent tribunal to review decisions made by the Repatriation Commission on claims for acceptance of injury or disease as war-caused or defence-caused, on claims for war widows', war widowers' and orphans' pensions, on assessment of pension rate for incapacity from war-caused or defence-caused injury or disease, and on claims for the grant, or assessment of, attendant allowance.
