Aged care home finder
Service Description
The aged care home finder helps you to look for Australian government-funded aged care homes that meet your particular needs. You can search for aged care homes in a particular location or with a particular name and you can specify the level of care needed or any special needs. An advanced search provides even more options.
Please note: there are other accommodation options (e.g. retirement villages) available for older Australians that are not covered by the aged care home finder.
What if I need more information?
Help with aged care homes outlines how to work out whether you require the services of an aged care home, how to have your care needs assessed, types of care and services, how much you'll be expected to pay and how to access aged care services.
You can also telephone from anywhere in Australia:
- Aged Care Information Line 1800 500 853
- Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres 1800 052 222

What is needed to use this service?
An Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT or ACAS in Victoria) assessment is necessary to determine your eligibility for some community care or aged care home care.
