ICON is an Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) database about import conditions. It contains the Australian import conditions for more than 20,000 plant, animal, microbial, mineral and human products. Find out if something you intend to import needs a quarantine permit or treatment, or if there are any other quarantine prerequisites.

The ICON Alerts page contains hot topics or major changes to AQIS import requirements. Import conditions can change quickly and it is the responsibility of the importer to ensure that the information they have is up to date by checking regularly on ICON or by contacting AQIS.

How do I use this service?

To search ICON, enter the commodity into the appropriate field in the database. For a more specific search, also select the country of origin and/or the end use of the commodity.
