Tax - personal income tax-related enquiry service

Service Description

You can get help with your income tax either by contacting the Tax Office by phone or by visiting a Tax Office shopfront.

For personal income tax-related enquiries (which cover issues such as lodging tax returns, tax file numbers, being taxed by your employer) you can phone 132 861.

By visiting a Tax Office Shopfront you can:

  • talk to our personal tax staff (but not about superannuation or business);
  • access our websites;
  • pick up a range of publications and brochures; or
  • access our priority phone service for superannuation and business issues.

If you need one-on-one assistance, you can make an appointment for a personal interview at one of our shopfronts by phoning 132 861. If you are on a low income and want some free help filling out your tax return you may also be eligible for assistance from a Tax Help volunteer.
