Australian Scholarships is an Australian Government initiative that offers educational and professional development awards to citizens of the Asia-Pacific region. Awards are available to high achievers from participating countries, as well as for Australians wishing to study overseas.

Commonwealth scholarships

The Commonwealth Scholarships Program was introduced to assist students from low socio-economic backgrounds, particularly those from rural and regional areas and Indigenous students, with costs associated with higher education. To be eligible applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas.

In addition to the Endeavour Awards, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) provides a financial contribution towards a number of other scholarships which enable Australians to study overseas.
