The Australian Council of Local Government (ACLG) has been established to engage local government directly with the Australian Government. It will provide a forum for the Australian Government and local government to consider policies and initiatives in areas of mutual interest and will promote collaboration between the Australian Government and local government, as well as between local governments themselves.
